Halfway There: Celebrating the Wins
Well, here we are, already halfway through the year! Doesn't it feel like just yesterday we were setting those ambitious New Year's resolutions? If you're anything like me, you might be looking at your progress and feeling a mix of pride in some areas, but also a little stuck in others. And that's totally okay!
I've been working through a 6-week wellness challenge, focusing on key habits: eating breakfast, balancing your plate, staying hydrated, cooking at home, moving your body, and getting enough sleep. It’s been a journey of ups and downs, but I'm definitely not giving up!
The third cycle of the challenge just wrapped up, and I have to be honest, I haven't quite nailed everything. However, I am super proud of two things I have been incredibly consistent with: moving my body (I easily hit 10,000 steps every day!) and getting enough sleep. I've found my stride with daily movement, and my sleeping routine is solid. These are huge wins that I'm celebrating!
Now, life with two growing boys who seem to have endless appetites means meal prep is a constant in my house. While that certainly helps with the "cooking at home" goal, sometimes convenience wins. In addition to that, I can’t seem to consistently drink enough water, eat breakfast daily, and consistently have a balanced plate.
But here’s the thing, I'm not giving up. I know that consistency is a journey, not a destination. It’s all about finding your unique rhythm, understanding the challenges that pop up, and making those small, strategic adjustments along the way.
So, even though I might feel a bit stuck on some of my wellness goals, I'm choosing to focus on and celebrate the victories I am achieving. Those consistent 10,000 steps and a good night's rest are huge building blocks, and they motivate me to keep pushing forward with the rest.
